A 50-year-old U.S. resident, who calls herself “the youngest grandmother of America”, revealed the secret of preserving beauty and health.
The mother of three children Donnazione Cargill said that strangers often take her for the sister of her 20-year-old daughter. In addition, her blood pressure and other medical indicators are at levels consistent with a young girl’s health. Cargill claims to look and feel many years younger than her actual age thanks to an emphasis on healthy eating and exercise.
“I don’t eat red meat – just fish and chicken. And I drink a lot of tea, I drink tea all the time. I have cups of tea in my fridge. I believe that it’s what keeps me young,” the woman stated.
She has been running since high school and continues to train to this day. “My typical workout: I get on the track, do a 15-minute warm-up and stretch. And then I run four 600-meter distances, four 400-meter distances, four 200-meter distances and four 100-meter distances,” Cargill said.
The woman is a seven-time Illinois state track and field champion. She also enjoys taekwondo and recently won a silver medal in an amateur competition.
Cargill cited playing with her four-year-old granddaughter as another secret to staying young. In particular, they are passionate about collecting dolls together. “You are as you imagine yourself to be. I don’t think about old age, I don’t think about the past. I want to live very many years, but my thoughts remain young,” the woman stated.
