A woman from the US loved being pregnant so much that she decided to become a surrogate mother
A woman from the US decided to become a surrogate mother out of love for the process of carrying a baby.
Essenia Latorre, 25, from Louisville, Georgia, is a mother of two and was keen to experience pregnancy again, but wasn’t ready for a third child. She enjoyed being pregnant so much that she decided to participate in a surrogacy program. Her husband supported her.
Essenia Latorre: “After my second child, I felt a strong desire to be pregnant again. I love pregnancy, I feel so beautiful during pregnancy. But I wasn’t ready for another child, so I decided to become a surrogate mother”
Latorre went through all the necessary procedures and after being officially listed as a surrogacy candidate, she chose a couple who were willing to send her pictures of the baby after it was born and allow her to communicate with it. In June 2022, six months after meeting the family of the baby-to-be, Latorre underwent an embryo transfer procedure and five days later a test showed she was pregnant.
The woman said that this pregnancy turned out to be the best of three, and she was very happy. For nine months, she shared all the news with the parents of the baby and told them how she was feeling. For carrying the baby, Latorre received 40 thousand dollars (about 3.6 million rubles), in addition, she was compensated for the purchase of maternity clothes.
In February 2023, Latorre gave birth to a healthy baby boy and was even allowed to hold him after birth. “I felt closeness with him, but I never felt that it was my child,” the American woman admitted. The woman reported that she has been in constant euphoria since the birth and is very happy for the baby and his parents. Despite the impressive fee for carrying the baby, Latorre says she sees it as a bonus and that money was not her goal.
“If you do it for the money, it’s not worth it,” she said.
She emphasized that while she sees more pros than cons in surrogacy, the pregnancy did impose certain limitations on her life. Latorre was more tired and played less with her children. She said she would love to go through it again in the future, but isn’t ready for another pregnancy just yet.
