The head of Japan’s Asahi Brewery has warned that there could be a shortage of beer in the coming years due to global warming
Unstable weather in recent years has already affected the yields of beer components, leading to record increases in malt and barley prices.
According to Asahi CEO Atsushi Katsuki, analysis has shown that impending climate change will lead to a significant decline in barley yields and hop quality over the next three decades, resulting in severe beer shortages.
