“Allied” star Marion Cotillard has complained about harassment in Hollywood. She shared her negative experience at the Cannes Film Festival, Deadline reported.
The actress presented the film “Little Girl in Blue” about harassment at the screening and talked about similar situations in her life.
“I’ve been an actress for a long time, and I’ve been put in situations that I shouldn’t have been in. There are still sick men, and sometimes women, who take advantage of aspiring actors,” Cotillard shared.
She noted that contemporary artists should openly fight against harassment in the film industry.
“Young actresses today know that it’s wrong, that if someone asks you for something you’re not comfortable with, you can say no. I didn’t know that when I was a young actress. That was a very different time,” the celebrity concluded.
The topic of sexual harassment has become one of the most painful in Hollywood. Actresses first began to talk massively about harassment by directors and producers after a high-profile story with Harvey Weinstein, who was accused of sexual misconduct by several women.
One of the first mass campaign against sexual harassment in the film industry began actress Alyssa Milano. She urged the other actresses to speak openly about their experiences.
