At the age of 58, Irish actor Ray Stevenson, who appeared in RRR, Thor, and Rome, passed away.
Stevenson passed away on Sunday in Italy, according to his agents, although it’s unclear what exactly happened.
Although he was born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, in 1964, he spent a portion of his childhood in England. There, he studied theater at Bristol Old Vic School before making appearances in TV series in the 1990s and Hollywood movies later that decade.
He played Dagonet, one of the Knights of the Round Table, in Antoine Fuqua’s 2004 action blockbuster King Arthur, which was his first significant acting job.
His career in the US was launched with the character of Titus Pullo, a soldier in the 13th Legion in the HBO series, which he played in Rome in 2005.
He portrayed the title character in the pre-Disney version Punisher: War Zone in 2008, Volstagg in the first three Thor movies, and Scott Buxton, the evil governor, in RRR.
The Divergent trilogy, GI Joe: Retaliation, and The Transporter: Refuelled were a few more notable movies in which she appeared.
