The head of Warner Bros. Discovery head David Zaslav was booed by Boston University graduates during his acceptance speech.
Protesters disrupted Zaslav’s speech. They urged him to pay the writers and leave the stage.
The head of Warner Bros. Discovery was going to admonish the young people. He tried to talk about the importance of finding common ground with his colleagues, but did not finish his speech because of the outraged graduates. The crowd was especially angry when Zaslav said that he was “well paid.
The CEO later told the publication that he hoped the striking writers’ problems would be resolved soon.
“As I have often said, I support the writers immensely and hope that the strike will be resolved soon and in a way that makes them feel recognized,” Zaslav shared. In early May, Hollywood screenwriters went on their biggest strike in 15 years over low wages and working conditions. Negotiations between the parties failed to resolve the conflict. The previous protests by writers in the U.S. were in the fall of 2007. They lasted 100 days.
