Hip-hop singer Tupac Shakur received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame posthumously.
The ceremony was attended by relatives and fans of the musician. The star was hosted by the late rapper’s sister, Seth Shakur.
“Today’s unveiling of Tupac’s star not only pays tribute to his contributions to the entertainment industry, but also speaks eloquently to his lasting influence, even 25 years later,” said the artist’s relative.
She also admitted that the rapper dreamed of having a star on the Walk of Fame while he was still alive.
Tupac Shakur was one of the most influential musicians in his genre. His latest album, All Eyez on Me, became one of the best-selling albums in the United States. Rolling Stone magazine included the artist in its list of “The 100 Greatest Performers of All Time.
Shakur tragically died in 1996 as a result of gunshot wounds at the age of 25. His killers have not yet been found.
