In the United States, a swarm of wasps stung police officers who had just detained a car thief.
The incident occurred in the city of Seattle, Washington. Law enforcers received information about a man who tried to steal several cars, threatening drivers with a knife near the tunnel in the East Queen Anne neighborhood.
Officers arrived at the scene where they located the 22-year-old suspect. He immediately fled into a thicket between houses on the hillside. Patrol officers caught up with the offender and plowed him to the ground near one of the structures. During the apprehension it was discovered that there was a wasp hive in the same place. The insects immediately got out and pounced on the people.
The police officers twisted the carjacker under the constant attacks of wasps and dragged him to their car. As a result, the young man needed medical attention. Also one of the law enforcers, who during the arrest, in addition to stings, received an arm injury, went to the hospital.
From the clinic, the detainee was taken to jail. He was charged with assault, destruction of other people’s property and attempted robbery.
